1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Otrip Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (“Otrip”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use the Otrip app on iPhone, iPad or Android, or the website otrip.io (together, “Otrip”).
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information. Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms. By creating an account or using Otrip, you agree to all three. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Otrip.
2. Who can use Otrip
- You must be at least 13, or older if your country sets a higher minimum age for using online services without a parent’s consent.
- You must be allowed to use Otrip under the laws that apply to you.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and can’t be sold or handed to someone else.
- The details you give us must be true, and you must keep them up to date.
3. Your account
You can sign in with your email and password, a passkey, or another account you already have. Keep your sign-in details safe, and turn on two-factor codes for extra protection. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password, sign out other devices in Settings → Security, and tell us at support@otrip.io.
4. Using Otrip
Otrip helps you plan and share trips with other people: trips with chats, plans, ideas, polls, lists and expenses; clubs, events and country communities; Ride Mode and SOS; Travel Tracker, footprints, travel books and reels; Discover, Bookings and Plan with AI.
Otrip works offline, so your trips, chats and documents are stored on your phone and sync when you are back online. Changes made offline reach our servers only after your phone reconnects. If you lose your phone, or sign out and wipe it, anything not yet synced can be lost.
5. Your content
You own what you share. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you choose and keep Otrip running.
You keep ownership of everything you create and share on Otrip: messages, photos, videos, plans, footprints, posts and the rest (“your content”). To run Otrip, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, translate, resize and display your content, and to show it to the people you share it with.
When you make something public, such as a trip, a footprint or a community post, it can be seen by anyone in the app and on otrip.io. We may also feature public trips, with their cover and name, on Otrip’s own social media accounts. Ask us and we will take such a post down.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies other people already have (for example, messages on their phones) and posts in community threads are the exceptions, as the Privacy Policy explains.
You must have the right to share what you post. Don’t post other people’s photos, videos or music without permission, and respect anyone who asks not to be photographed or shared.
6. What you must not do
Follow the Community Guidelines everywhere in Otrip. You also must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- harass, threaten, deceive or impersonate anyone;
- send spam, run scams, or collect money for trips or events you don’t intend to deliver;
- use SOS or emergency features for anything but a real emergency;
- try to get into accounts, chats or systems you aren’t allowed to access;
- copy, scrape or harvest data from Otrip with bots or other automated tools;
- reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with Otrip, or upload anything harmful such as malware;
- get around limits, suspensions or bans, for example by creating new accounts;
- use Plan with AI or any other feature to create content that is harmful, illegal or misleading.
7. Groups you run
When you create a trip, club or event, you are its organiser. You decide who joins, the questions and requirements to join, and who helps you manage it. You are responsible for the people you invite and the plans and events you organise.
Otrip does not check the people who use it. Age ranges and other requirements for joining are confirmed by the people joining, not verified by us. Take care when you meet people for the first time: meet in a public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, and leave if something feels wrong.
8. Money between members
Otrip keeps a record of who owes what. It never holds, sends or receives your money.
- Expenses and settle-ups record what people paid and what they owe. Paying each other happens outside Otrip.
- Club funds record money paid in and out. The payment details are entered by the club, and payments go directly to the account the club names.
- Paid events: you pay the organiser directly, using the payment details they give. The organiser confirms your payment from the receipt you upload, and handles any refund.
Otrip is not a party to these payments. We are not responsible for money paid between members, or for refunds, and we can’t reverse a payment. Settle any disagreement with the other person or the organiser. If you think someone is running a scam, report them in the app.
9. Bookings
Bookings shows flights, tours, eSIMs and other travel services from partner companies, and opens their websites for you to book. Your booking is a contract between you and that partner, on their terms. They handle payment, changes, cancellations and refunds. Prices and availability come from the partners and can change.
We may earn a commission when you book. It doesn’t change the price you pay. Otrip is not a travel agent or tour operator and is not responsible for the services partners provide.
10. Plan with AI
- Plan with AI is part of Pro and suggests a route from the details you give it. Daily and monthly limits apply, as shown in the app.
- Suggestions can be wrong, out of date or unsuitable. Always check opening times, travel advice, visas, safety and anything else important with official sources before you rely on them.
- A plan is a starting point for your group. It is not professional travel, safety or legal advice.
11. Safety on the road
Set up your ride before you go, keep your eyes on the road, and call the emergency services in an emergency.
- Never use Otrip while driving or riding. Start Ride Mode before you set off, and follow traffic laws at all times.
- SOS alerts the people in your trip. It does not contact the emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
- Locations, distances, turn hints and alerts depend on your phone, its GPS and a network signal. They can be late, inaccurate or missing.
- Location features use more battery. Make sure your phone is charged before a long journey.
12. Subscriptions
Pay through your app store, cancel there any time, and your app store handles refunds.
- Otrip is free. Pro and any other paid plans add features, as described in the app.
- New accounts get 14 days of Pro free. When the trial ends, your account goes back to Free on its own. No subscription starts and no payment is taken.
- You buy a subscription through the app store on your phone. The price, in your currency and including any tax, is shown before you confirm.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancel in your app store account settings. You keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by your app store under its own policies. This doesn’t affect your rights under consumer law.
- If we change the price of a subscription, we or your app store will tell you before it applies. You can cancel before you are charged the new price.
13. Storage and your files
- Photos, videos and files sent in chats are delivered through our servers and then removed from them. The copy stays on the phones that received it.
- Otrip is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you can’t afford to lose.
14. Changes to Otrip
We are always improving Otrip, so features change. We may add, change or remove features, and some new features roll out gradually or start as tests. If we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel.
15. Suspending or closing accounts
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. You can reactivate it within 30 days; after that it is erased.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, puts others at risk, or exposes us to legal liability. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell you why and how to appeal. In serious cases, such as threats of violence or the sexual exploitation of children, we act at once and may report it to the authorities.
16. Our intellectual property
Otrip, its name, logo, design and software belong to Otrip Limited and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
17. Other companies’ services
Otrip works with other companies’ services, such as maps, sign-in, app stores and booking partners. Their own terms apply to how you use them, and we are not responsible for them.
If you got Otrip from an app store, that store is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Otrip or its support. You must also follow the store’s own terms of use, and you may not use Otrip where the law forbids it.
18. Our responsibility to you
We take care to run Otrip well, but we can’t promise it will always be available. We are responsible for losses we cause that were foreseeable.
We provide Otrip with reasonable care and skill. But it depends on networks, phones and other services, so we can’t promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that data will never be lost.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for anything caused by other users, organisers, booking partners or events outside our control.
Where the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law. It also doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
19. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the European Union, you can also bring a claim in your own country’s courts, and the consumer protection laws there still apply to you.
If something goes wrong, please talk to us first at hello@otrip.io. Most problems are sorted out quickly that way.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Otrip changes, or when the law requires it. When we do, we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Otrip and delete your account. If you keep using Otrip after the change, the new terms apply.
21. Contact us
